Based on a small acreage in the Similkameen Valley, Village Wellness Therapy offers online counselling for adults and older teens throughout British Columbia.
My work is rooted in the belief that meaningful change often begins when we have the space to slow down, feel supported, and explore what’s happening beneath the surface. Whether you’re navigating an eating disorder, disordered eating, anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or a season of transition, therapy offers an opportunity to better understand yourself and the patterns that may no longer be serving you.
I take a relational, depth-oriented, and non-pathologizing approach to counselling. Rather than looking at symptoms in isolation, I’m interested in the emotional experiences, relationships, and circumstances that have shaped how you’ve learned to move through the world. Together, we make room for curiosity, compassion, and a deeper connection with yourself.
After years of calling different parts of British Columbia home, I eventually found my way to the Similkameen Valley, where I now live with my two dogs, Saša and Luka. Living here has been a beautiful reminder of the importance of slowing down, spending time outdoors, and finding connection in the natural world.
While my practice is currently offered online, I welcome clients from Cawston, Keremeos, Hedley, Princeton, and neighbouring South Okanagan communities such as Kaleden, as well as throughout British Columbia.
In-Person Offerings - Coming soon.
Local in-person offerings including traditional counselling and nature-based sessions are currently in development.

About Julia Webster, MCP, RCC
Therapist and Founder at Village Wellness
Hi, I’m Julia,
I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor, endlessly passionate about the possibilities in creating a world lived from the heart.
My work is a true weaving of the practical and the subtle. In our work together, I always ensure a balance between exploration and insight, alongside practical strategies and tools to help you feel supported between our sessions.
The Four Foundations of My Work
1. Strengthening Your Inner Wisdom
I believe every person has an innate wisdom that remains present, even when an eating disorder and/or body image noise has become incredibly loud.
Together, we’ll work toward strengthening your connection to that deeper part of yourself by creating the conditions where it naturally begins to feel stronger and take up more space.
Over time, the eating disorder no longer has to be the loudest voice in the room because another part of you becomes increasingly capable of leading.
2. Helping Your Nervous System Feel Deeply Seen
Eating disorders are often far more than behaviours around food. Sometimes they become a language for experiences that never had words. Sometimes they carry emotions that once felt impossible to hold. Sometimes they protected you in ways nothing else could.
Rather than rushing to fix or eliminate those patterns, we’ll spend time becoming curious about what they have been communicating or protecting.
I believe our nervous systems often soften when experiences that have been carried alone are finally met with genuine acknowledgement, compassion, and understanding.
Sometimes the deepest healing isn’t found in having another explanation; rather, from finally feeling truly seen and witnessed in all that your system has been carrying.
When those experiences no longer have to be carried alone, your system can begin to exhale.
3. Balancing Depth with Practical Support
Insight alone rarely creates recovery.
At the same time, practical strategies without deeper healing often leave people feeling like they’re constantly managing symptoms rather than truly recovering.
My approach integrates both.
Alongside exploring the deeper roots of your relationship with food, your body, and yourself, we’ll also work on practical, tangible ways to support your recovery in everyday life.
Together we’ll navigate things like:
meals and nourishment
body image
urges and behaviours
perfectionism
relationships
boundaries
emotional regulation
returning to life outside of the eating disorder
The goal is to help you move beyond simply understanding to living life more fully and freely.
4. Walking Alongside You
Recovery asks an incredible amount of people.
I don’t believe meaningful support always fits neatly into fifty or sixty minutes once a week.
That’s why I strive to offer care that feels thoughtful, responsive, and individualized.
For some people, weekly therapy is exactly what’s needed.
Others benefit from more comprehensive support between sessions, which is why I also offer my Recovery Package for clients who would benefit from greater continuity throughout the week.
Whatever level of support is appropriate for you, my hope is that you feel like you have someone walking alongside you, not someone trying to fix you from a distance.
Additionally, my understanding of eating disorders is both personal and professional. For many years, I was at war with my body in nearly every way. The process of finding my own way forward to a truly peaceful relationship with my body and myself has shaped how I work with others, allowing me to see beyond textbooks and labels, and to help people return to a sense of home within themselves.
Dog Partners at Village Wellness Therapy
Dogs are present to a great deal of subtle information that we as humans often don’t notice. From the moment we meet you at the gate, Saša and Luka are tracking all of it as your session unfolds. This is one of the beautiful things about working alongside animals, it offers us the opportunity to be deeply seen in a way that is entirely genuine and unique from what we often experience with other humans.
With animals, none of their choices - whether to stay close, create distance, or move elsewhere - are personal. Everything is simply neutral clarity. In my experience, animals are listening to a language without words. They are naturally attuned to a communication that happens long before language, long before body language, long before we consciously know what is unfolding. And they are fluent here.
Every session is different. You never know what kind of gift may be revealed.
Whether you connect with us for an online session or an in-person session at the farm (coming summer 2027), their presence and wisdom are woven through our work together.
Saša
Guardian | Sovereignty | Intuition
Saša is a livestock guardian dog who lives on the property and protects it both physically and energetically. She is a being with deep wisdom, if you’re quiet enough to notice. She will see right past any story or concept, straight to the part of you where truth lives. She is incredibly nurturing and diplomatic, though she is no people pleaser. She lives from instinct, and relationships are based on mutual respect.
From the moment I met her, she told me she was a medicine dog. We have been on quite a journey together, developing our confidence in one another and allowing her to grow into the role she now holds alongside this work. She chose her name: Saša which means protector of the people, she knew it all along.
Saša has taught me what true power is. Just because you have teeth does not always mean you need to use them to be seen as powerful. Power is a presence. She may sit with you through your tears, or Pyr-paw you a little too hard to show you where your voice lives.
She is ancient. The bloodline of generations of instinct still runs through her. While she is not a therapy dog, her medicine is profound, and many people have left interactions with her changed in ways they weren’t expecting.
Saša is my partner in this work, and she chooses what that partnership looks like. I trust her completely.
Luka
Initiator | Partnership | Momentum | Baby Apprentice
Luka's medicine is joyful participation in life. Inspired action, movement, momentum, reciprocity, agility, tenderness.
He is an initiator, he leaps first and asks questions later. This does not mean he is reckless, he simply moves, embraces life. He is strong and powerful, yet he is glad to allow Saša to lead the way. He recognizes her wisdom and he respects her. He has a sensitive heart that draws him toward relationship. He notices, responds, adjusts, tries again. There is something about learning how to move with another being without abandoning yourself.
He is serious, steady, and enthusiastic. He will remind you what you are capable of and then encourage you all the way along.
*You may or may not meet Luka during your session. He is still a baby, after all, and sometimes the most important work he has to do is take his nap.
About Village Wellness
At Village Wellness, we believe care should be both intelligent and deeply human. We support mind, body, and soul as one interconnected, living system. Our bodies are not machines to be managed; they are part of nature itself.
We’re here for women seeking grounded, evidence-informed care that honours their biology, intuition, and autonomy. No quick fixes, no numbing: just real, relational support that helps you reconnect with your body’s own intelligence.
Because true wellness restores sovereignty: the quiet knowing that you are free to change your circumstances, your story, your life.
Once, care was woven into the rhythm of the village; shared, trusted, alive. Village Wellness exists to remember that way of being: where health and belonging meet, and where modern care finds its old, human heart.
