Online Therapy in Vancouver, BC
Village Wellness Therapy offers online counselling for adults and teens 16+ in Vancouver and across British Columbia.
Many of the clients I work with are navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, burnout, body image concerns, anxiety, or the internal pressure of holding everything together for everyone else. Therapy offers a space to begin feeling supported, untangle patterns, and relate to yourself differently, with more honesty, steadiness, and self-trust.
My approach is relational, depth-oriented, and non-pathologizing. Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction, we explore the wider emotional, relational, and nervous system patterns underneath what you’re experiencing. You are seen as a whole being: body, mind, soul, and environmental context.
Born and raised in Vancouver, I have a personal connection to the city and the communities that make it home. Although my practice is now based in the Similkameen Valley, I continue to work with clients in Vancouver and throughout British Columbia.
Sessions are offered virtually, allowing you to access counselling from Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and surrounding communities.
About Julia Webster, MCP, RCC
Therapist and Founder at Village Wellness
Hi, I’m Julia,
I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor, endlessly passionate about the possibilities in creating a world lived from the heart.
My work is a true weaving of the practical and the subtle. In our work together, I always ensure a balance between exploration and insight, alongside practical strategies and tools to help you feel supported between our sessions.
The Four Foundations of My Work
1. Strengthening Your Inner Wisdom
I believe every person has an innate wisdom that remains present, even when an eating disorder and/or body image noise has become incredibly loud.
Together, we’ll work toward strengthening your connection to that deeper part of yourself by creating the conditions where it naturally begins to feel stronger and take up more space.
Over time, the eating disorder no longer has to be the loudest voice in the room because another part of you becomes increasingly capable of leading.
2. Helping Your Nervous System Feel Deeply Seen
Eating disorders are often far more than behaviours around food. Sometimes they become a language for experiences that never had words. Sometimes they carry emotions that once felt impossible to hold. Sometimes they protected you in ways nothing else could.
Rather than rushing to fix or eliminate those patterns, we’ll spend time becoming curious about what they have been communicating or protecting.
I believe our nervous systems often soften when experiences that have been carried alone are finally met with genuine acknowledgement, compassion, and understanding.
Sometimes the deepest healing isn’t found in having another explanation; rather, from finally feeling truly seen and witnessed in all that your system has been carrying.
When those experiences no longer have to be carried alone, your system can begin to exhale.
3. Balancing Depth with Practical Support
Insight alone rarely creates recovery.
At the same time, practical strategies without deeper healing often leave people feeling like they’re constantly managing symptoms rather than truly recovering.
My approach integrates both.
Alongside exploring the deeper roots of your relationship with food, your body, and yourself, we’ll also work on practical, tangible ways to support your recovery in everyday life.
Together we’ll navigate things like:
meals and nourishment
body image
urges and behaviours
perfectionism
relationships
boundaries
emotional regulation
returning to life outside of the eating disorder
The goal is to help you move beyond simply understanding to living life more fully and freely.
4. Walking Alongside You
Recovery asks an incredible amount of people.
I don’t believe meaningful support always fits neatly into fifty or sixty minutes once a week.
That’s why I strive to offer care that feels thoughtful, responsive, and individualized.
For some people, weekly therapy is exactly what’s needed.
Others benefit from more comprehensive support between sessions, which is why I also offer my Recovery Package for clients who would benefit from greater continuity throughout the week.
Whatever level of support is appropriate for you, my hope is that you feel like you have someone walking alongside you, not someone trying to fix you from a distance.
Additionally, my understanding of eating disorders is both personal and professional. For many years, I was at war with my body in nearly every way. The process of finding my own way forward to a truly peaceful relationship with my body and myself has shaped how I work with others, allowing me to see beyond textbooks and labels, and to help people return to a sense of home within themselves.
About Village Wellness
At Village Wellness, we believe care should be both intelligent and deeply human. We support mind, body, and soul as one interconnected, living system. Our bodies are not machines to be managed; they are part of nature itself.
We’re here for women seeking grounded, evidence-informed care that honours their biology, intuition, and autonomy. No quick fixes, no numbing: just real, relational support that helps you reconnect with your body’s own intelligence.
Because true wellness restores sovereignty: the quiet knowing that you are free to change your circumstances, your story, your life.
Once, care was woven into the rhythm of the village; shared, trusted, alive. Village Wellness exists to remember that way of being: where health and belonging meet, and where modern care finds its old, human heart.
